Andrea Nassi è nato a Roma il 25 settembre 1953. Artista eclettico, ha fondato le sue radici estetiche attraverso l’esperienza musicale, avviata all’età di sei anni con lo studio del pianoforte è proseguita con quella del fagotto presso il Conservatorio Santa Cecilia di Roma, distinguendosi per talento e sensibilità espressiva. A tredici anni intraprende anche lo studio della batteria, fondando numerosi gruppi con i quali ha svolto un’intensa attività concertistica a livello nazionale, proponendo un vasto repertorio che andava dal “Beat” degli inizi a forme più complesse come quelle del “Rock Progressivo”. Sin dall’infanzia ha mostrato un notevole talento per il disegno, passione divenuta poi concreta quando all’età di quindici anni, da autodidatta, si è accostato alla pittura ad olio. Fondamentali all’iniziazione del cimento pittorico sono state le suggestioni provocate dalla conoscenza delle opere di Bosch, Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Savinio, Salvador Dalì..... Nelle sue opere è in effetti sempre viva l’istanza della dimensione metafisica, come pure la ricorrenza del segno onirico-surrealista, seppur rielaborate attraverso una forte e personale sensibilità espressionista è una raffinata originalità nell’invenzione dei soggetti e della costruzione formale. Protagonista delle sue tele è spesso la natura, collocata in un ipotetico dopo-storia del passato o del futuro dove l’uomo o è assente, come nelle minacciose nature morte e nelle rappresentazioni di paesaggi primordiali, oppure sembra essere tratteggiato come una creatura enigmatica senza più parola, tornata ad una saggezza primigenia e capace di un’esistenza in equilibrio tra i poli dell’istinto ferino e di una profonda e umana consapevolezza. La natura è allora per Nassi una straordinaria forza erotica e rigeneratrice, capace di riprendersi il suo spazio fisico sulla terra, come quello psichico nella mente dell’uomo: se in alcune tele troviamo un’umanità che abita i segni di una passata civiltà ormai tramontata, in sereno accordo con fatti naturali sublimi quanto spaventosi, in altre abbiamo visioni oniriche in cui tutto è dominato da forti pulsioni inconsce, a cui l’uomo, ormai sganciatosi dai gangli della civiltà, non può che cedere. Andrea Nassi, dagli anni degli inizi a oggi ha mantenuto inalterata la sua originalità e visionarietà, attraversando comunque stili e tecniche diverse. Nel tempo si è specializzato anche nella realizzazione dei ritratti, inserendo i soggetti scelti (compreso sé stesso) nelle sue tipiche ambientazioni metafisiche e surreali. Si dedica inoltre alla realizzazione di scene teatrali vincendo premi e riscuotendo consensi. Attualmente vive e opera tra i suoi Studi di Guidonia Montecelio, Acilia e la Galleria INTERART 24 APS al Porto Turistico di Roma n.852 (Ostia) dove è in mostra permanente, ricoprendo la carica di Vicepresidente. Ilario Grieco Andrea Nassi was born in Rome on 25 September 1953. An eclectic artist, he founded his aesthetic roots through the musical experience, started at the age of six with the study of the piano and continued with that of the bassoon at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, distinguishing himself for talent and expressive sensitivity. At thirteen he also began studying drums, founding numerous bands with which he carried out an intense concert activity at national level, proposing a vast repertoire ranging from the "Beat" of the beginnings to more complex forms such as those of "Progressive Rock". Since childhood he has shown a remarkable talent for drawing, a passion that later became concrete when at the age of fifteen, as a self-taught artist, he approached oil painting. Fundamental to the initiation of the pictorial trial were the suggestions provoked by the knowledge of the works of Bosch, Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Savinio, Salvador Dalì... In fact, in his works the instance of the metaphysical dimension is always alive, as well as the recurrence of the oneiric-surrealist sign, albeit reworked through a strong and personal expressionist sensitivity and a refined originality in the invention of subjects and formal construction. The protagonist of his canvases is often nature, placed in a hypothetical after-history of the past or the future where man is either absent, as in the threatening still-lifes and in the representations of primordial landscapes, or he seems to be outlined as an enigmatic creature with no say, returned to a primordial wisdom and capable of an existence in balance between the poles of the feral instinct and a profound and human awareness. Nature is then for Nassi an extraordinary erotic and regenerating force, capable of regaining its physical space on earth, as well as the psychic one in the mind of man: if in some canvases we find a humanity that inhabits the signs of a past civilization that has now faded , in serene accord with natural facts as sublime as they are frightening, in others we have oneiric visions in which everything is dominated by strong unconscious impulses, to which man, now detached from the ganglia of civilization, can only yield. Andrea Nassi, from the early years to today, has kept his originality and visionary unaltered, however crossing different styles and techniques. Over time he also has specialized in the creation of portraits, inserting the chosen subjects (including himself) in his typical metaphysical and surreal settings. He also dedicates himself to the creation of theatrical scenes, winning prizes and gaining acclaim. Currently he lives and works among his Studies of Guidonia Montecelio, Acilia and the INTERART 24 APS Gallery at the Touristic Harbor of Rome n.852 (Ostia) where he is on permanent display, holding the position of Vice President.
